GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE 2018/2019

Not all rates and terms apply to group bookings (any rental that consists of 4 or more vehicles travelling together).

INSURANCE

STAR RV PACK (ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE) - FULL INSURANCE is now part of the Standard Rate - Star RV is now the inclusive RV solution.
All Inclusive Package bond/excess AUS$250. The Inclusive Rate includes: unlimited windscreen and tyres, undercarriage/overhead damage (covered for accidental damage), Pre-purchased Gas Bottle, Road User Charge, Snow Chains (on request),Initial set of toilet chemicals, camp chairs and table and baby or booster seats (Max up to 2 on request with prior request).
NZ$250 Security Bond required. (Imprint only, must have sufficient funds available).

Extended Roadside Assistance
AU$4 per day (capped at AU$100) includes opening RV on lock out, lost key replacement up to $120, emergency towing up to 25km, jump start, flat tyre change using spare located in the RV, fuel delivery up to 20 litres. (Non-mechanical issues are not covered and guests may be required to take the RV to a repairer).

Vehicle Condition
Vehicles must be returned with the interior cleaned and holding tanks emptied. The vehicles exterior does not require cleaning unless it is difficult to ascertain the condition of the vehicle on return. Fees will apply if the vehicle is not returned in the required condition.

First Aid Kits
A First Aid kit is supplied in every vehicle. If the seal is broken or the Kit is not returned the Kit becomes the property of the renter and a AU$50 fee is charged when the vehicle is returned.

ANIMALS
Service animals are allowed to travel in RV with written permission from Star RV at time of booking.

ONE WAY FEES
One way rentals are available subject to the minimum rental periods. All one-way rentals will be charged a fee of AU$165.

DEPOT LOCATIONS
Brisbane and Sydney only
Pegasus RV and Pandora RV are only available to/from Brisbane and Sydney.

EARLIEST AND LATEST PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF TIMES
Brisbane, Sydney
1 April 2019 - 31 March 2020: 8am to 4pm seven days a week

MINIMUM HIRE PERIOD
The minimum hire period is 5 days when pick up/drop off are the same location. A 10 day minimum rental period applies during the period of 15 December to 5 January and during Bathurst (10-13 October). Minimum rental periods are subject to change during other peak periods.

PUBLIC HOLIDAY SURCHARGE
All Branches closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday and Australia Day Public Holiday observed (28 January).

All rentals picking up or dropping off on the following public holiday days will incur an additional AU$100 surcharge:
Easter Monday
ANZAC Day (25 April)
Queens Birthday
Labour Day
Queens Birthday
Boxing Day (26 December)
Day After New Year's Day (2nd January)
Labour Day

DRIVERS LICENSES
All drivers must be at least 21 years old (Max 75) and hold a full and current Australian driver's licence, or an International Driving Licence, or a licence from the country of origin with English translation. The driver's licence must have been held for at least two years and be valid for the whole length of the rental. The original driver's licence must be shown at time of pick-up when the driver is present.

BOOKING AMENDMENTS WITH FLEX RATES
A NZ$25 fee will apply to amend a flex booking. Any changes made to a flex booking will be calculated by using the higher of one of two rates, either the original Flex Rate or the Flex Rate current at the time of booking alteration.
The following are considered as a booking alteration:
Change of name
Change to pick up or drop off dates
Change of pick up or drop off branch location
Change of RV category
Change or rate scheme including special rates (If the rate scheme or RV category is changed, this is considered a new booking and cancellation fees may apply to the original booking).
If rental dates are amended within 14 days of the vehicle pick up, no refund will be made if the hire is shortened.
If the pick up or drop off rental location is amended within 14 days of vehicle pick up, a relocation fee may apply.

CANCELLATION FEES
If cancelled 91 and over days prior to pick up the deposit is retained with a minimum of NZ$250.
90 to 22 days prior to pick up 10% of Total Rental (minimum $250).
21 to 7 days prior to pick up 20% of Total Rental (minimum $250).
Less than 7 days prior to pick up 50% of Total Rental (minimum $250).
If cancelled on the day of pick up or no show 100% of Total Rental (minimum $250).
There is no refund for late pick up or early return of vehicle.
Original pick-up date is used to calculate the cancellation fees.
